Damage Criteria

Novaflame Realms Ltd – Book Damage & Replacement Criteria
At Novaflame Realms, we carefully inspect all our book boxes before dispatch. However, we understand that occasionally books may suffer damage during transit or production.
If your book arrives damaged or defective, we will provide a replacement or, if that is not possible, a refund in line with the criteria below.
1. Qualifying Damage for Replacement or Refund
A book qualifies for replacement or refund if it exhibits any of the following:
• Pages: Cuts or tears larger than 2cm.
• Creases: More than one page or dust jacket crease exceeding 3cm.
• Scratches: Visible scratches on the dust jacket, fore edge, or hardback longer than 2cm.
• Corners: Crushed or dented corners larger than 1cm.
• Water Damage: Damage caused during shipping (photo evidence of the book and packaging required).
• Dust Jacket Misalignment: Mis-folded jackets causing the spine to misalign by 1cm or more.
• Production Defects: Missing design elements, misaligned fore-edge designs by more than 0.5cm, or foiling on the hardcover/dust jacket missing more than 1cm.
• Residue: Unremovable marks or residue on pages or covers.
• Missing Pages: Any pages that are absent from the book.
2. Damage That Does Not Qualify
The following minor imperfections do not qualify for a replacement or refund:
• Small scuffs or scratches under 2cm on dust jackets, hardcovers, or fore edges
• Fading of sprayed edges or foiling
• Slightly wavy pages or sprayed fore edges
• Loosely fitting dust jackets
• Foiling imperfections under 1cm
• Sprayed edge colour bleeding onto fewer than 8 pages
• Minor white spots on sprayed edges
• Slightly blurred printing on edges
3. Notification & Claims
To request a replacement or refund:
• Email: info@novaflame.co.uk
• Timeframe: Within 7 days of delivery
• Include photos of the damaged item and packaging to support your claim
Claims submitted after 7 days may not be eligible for a replacement or refund.
